How to change the fan speed to 4-20mA

source:fans    Time:2024-08-21    view:9214

We have said before that the default control method for new EC fans is PWM or 0-10V speed regulation, but some customers want to use 4-20mA speed regulation.

So in this video, we will talk about how to use software to change the configuration of the fan.

First, we need to power on the fan and connect the 485 communication line. We open the EC control software and enter the username and password. Wait for the program to load the configuration. You can see that the icon now turns green, indicating that the communication is normal. We double click on it and it's a new fan, so it's configured as default. Let’s take a look at its default configuration first, or check the device status first. The device is normal.

Then we can configure it. Look at the second line first. The source of the current set value. The default is analog AIN2, which means that we can only use analog to control the fan now. Then we click on IO configuration, and you can see that the port configuration of IO2 in the second row is analog input AIN2 0-10V, which means that we can only control the fan through voltage analog, that is, use 0-10V or PWM control.

So if we want to change it to 4-20mA, we click on this list, then select the bottom one, simulate input AIN2 4-20mA, and click Set. Now the fan is controlled through 4-20mA, and it is the IO2 interface.
