What is IP rating?
An IP Rating (the abbreviation of Ingress Protection) is a way of showing the effectiveness of electrical enclosures in blocking foreign bodies. IP ratings consist of the letters IP (Ingress Protection), which are then followed by two digits. The digits are used to specify the level of protection.
The first digit indicates the range of the device’s protection against fine dust, or how well people are protected from hazards in a sealed environment. I represent the level of preventing the entry of solid foreign objects, the highest level is 6;
The second digit indicates the waterproof level of the device. P stands for the level of protection against water ingress, the highest level is 8.
For example, the protection level of the 3312U axial flow fan is IP68,the first digit (the level of protection against electrical equipment and protection against foreign objects) is 6, which represents complete protection against dust intrusion;
The second digit ( the waterproof protection level of electrical equipment) is 8: it means that it can still be used after being submerged in water under a certain pressure for a long time.

below:
The protection level of the fan is IP56/IP54/IP23/IP67/IP68, etc.
How to choose the protection level of our fan mainly depends on the installation environment. If you don’t know how to choose, you can leave a message in the comment area or private message me. Follow us for getting more real stuff about fans.
